The Old Town of Warsaw is the most popular tourist destination in the whole city.  Despite the destruction of many buildings in WWII, an effort from Polish preservationists has brought back their mystique.  The most admirable sights are the Royal Castle, Zygmunt’s Column, Market Square and the Warsaw Barbican.  Transcend time as you roam the medieval streets and shops.  The whole family will be satisfied with a visit to Old Town Warsaw.
The Royal Route was previously the major communication road from the Royal Castle and the palaces in Lazienki and Wilanow.  There are plethoras of interesting attractions to visit on the Royal Route.  Churches, castles, palaces and museums are everywhere you look.  Simply walking the road does not take longer than 2 hours, but you could spend the whole day popping in and out of the interesting venues.

Saxon Garden is a perfect hideaway from the busy city.  It is a 15.5-hectare park in the heart of downtown.  The park opened to the public in 1727 giving it the status of the oldest park in Warsaw.  Furthermore, it is one of the oldest public parks in the world.  Formerly the garden for the Saxon Palace, it was transformed into the historical public oasis.  Tourist and locals roam the park to get a break from the bustling city life.

Fryderyck Chopin is Warsaw’s favorite son.  He is exemplified all over the city including a large monument in Lazienki Park.  The musical genius spent most of his life working in France where he fled following the Cadet Revolution in 1830.  The city beloved the composer so much, they made sure his heart would never leave again.  It is literally in an urn in the Holy Cross Church.
